ASSAL-IAIS Regional Training Seminar for Insurance Supervisors
A2ii co-organised the three final sessions with the Microinsurance Network, which focused on pandemic risks. During these, reflections were raised about the lessons learnt by the insurance sector in facing the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, which exposed vulnerabilities in the preparedness and resilience of facing systemic risks of such magnitude.
In the report below, you can learn more about the session results, an interactive exchange where participants discussed how to develop actions and/or programmes promoting the inclusion of three traditionally underserved groups: migrants, women and MSMEs.

El Seminario Regional de Capacitación de Supervisores de Seguros ASSAL-IAIS 2022 “Retos en los Sistemas de Seguros de América Latina”, es organizado en conjunto por la Asociación de Supervisores de Seguros de América Latina (ASSAL), la Asociación Internacional de Supervisores de Seguros (IAIS), la Iniciativa de Acceso a Seguros (A2ii), la Red de Microseguros (MiN) y la Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP de Perú (SBS).
Este evento se realizará del 22 al 23 de septiembre de 2022, en el Centro de Formación SBS, Lima, Perú.
El seminario incluirá temas actuales en materia de regulación y supervisión de seguros, entre los cuales se pueden destacar los siguientes: capital basado en riesgos, ejercicios de estrés, ciberseguridad, riesgo catastrófico, la brecha de protección, entre otros. Los tópicos serán abordados por expositores pertenecientes a entidades con amplio dominio de los temas y con vasta experiencia en las materias antes mencionadas, entre los cuales se encuentran IAIS, NAIC, A2ii, MiN y supervisores miembros de ASSAL.

The Regional Training Seminar for Insurance Supervisors ASSAL-IAIS “Challenges facing Insurance Markets Systems in Latin America” is being jointly organized by the Latin American Association of Insurance Supervisors (ASSAL), the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), the Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii), the Microinsurance Network (MiN) and the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Fund Administrators of Peru (SBS).
This event will take place at the SBS Training Centre, Lima, Peru, on September 22-23, 2022. The agenda of the seminar will include topics on risk-based capital, stress testing, cybersecurity, catastrophic risk and the protection gap, amongst other issues.
