What we do

The Initiative undertakes under its two pillars a wide range of activities that can be divided into four general categories:

Regulatory assessment

  • Develop self-assessment and peer review tools
  • Develop evidence-based knowledge presenting global/regional trends
  • Provide G20 with financial inclusion gap analysis

Supervisory development and capacity building

  • Develop training modules
  • Support global/regional seminars, peer learning activities
  • Offer supervisory support according to IAIS member needs
  • Offer technical assistance 

Monitoring and impact

  • Measure increase in access and usage on the ground
  • Measure closure of gaps self-assessment and peer review
  • Assist with measuring closure of gaps self-assessment and peer review

Standard setting

  • Provide feedback into IAIS standard setting activities
  • Synthesize global good practices
  • Advocacy international fora/G20
